I have been trying out different themes but kept switching back to Minnow, a free theme on WordPress.org. I also tried a few Genesis themes, but didn’t find one that worked quite the way I wanted without having to undergo major customizations.

My requirements for a new theme were:

  • Minimal design
  • Clean layout
  • Easy to customize
  • Support for featured images

There were a few other minor things I was looking for but this list takes care of the most significant items.

Array Themes

I found this theme shop a few months ago and have considered purchasing one of their themes more than once. However, today I realized there Author theme was free, along with a few others. It’s almost exactly what I have been looking for, so I installed it and ran through the basic setup (menus and sidebar widgets, etc.) quickly and easily.

You may notice a few more tweaks in the design over time, but I’m going to stick with this theme for the rest of the year at a minimum. My focus continues to be on easily creating content and this new look will help me continue in that direction.
